Mya is a true H-Town native, so it's best to say you can't expect nothing less than Texas-sized big things from this woman here. She fell in love with the art of storytelling when she came across some fan fiction creatives at the age of 13. Seeing how people could create a fantasy-like storyline with some of her favorite artist like Chris Brown, August Alsina and Mindless Behavior drew her into the craft. Mya's journey into becoming a literary creative started with just a few fan fiction stories she put together. She honed those skills with every story she wrote until writing fan fiction stories weren't enough for the teen. Mya then started creating stories from her true imagination and she created along with publishing her first urban novel "His Little Secret" at the age of 16. Readers were not ready for this youngster's writing style and when she came out with part two of her debut novel, the reviews poured in.
"This is my first time reading this author's books and I loved this series. I loved how all the characters grew. I will be looking forward to your books."
But with a favorite like the Legend the late Toni Morrison, how could Mya not be a hit with avid readers. It wasn't from the greats like "Beloved" or "The Bluest Eye" that caught Mya's attention but from the eloquently written "Sula" by Toni Morrison that pulled her heartstring. Another author or should we say authoress that is among Mya's favorite is the "Queen of Country Hood Love Stories" Monica Walters. Mya says that she has been a fan of Mrs. Walters' talent since 2020. Stating that she loves the way the author navigates through the raw and uncut of a relatable storyline while keeping her readers intrigued.
This now 23-year-old is no wallflower by the least when you look at her extensive catalog. 30 plus published urban novels that will definitely have you in an entanglement with the words on the pages. Mya's writing style attracted famed best-seller B. Love who had to have her signed to the B. Love Publications (blovepublications.net). We asked, how does she put together her storylines and life in general was her answer. From the music she's listening to, a book she's read, maybe a movie she's watched or even a simple conversation with a friend could spark a story in Mya's head. Now as for her inspiration and what drives her, Mya had a few words to say on the subject.
"My husband inspires me to write. He shows me a love I didn’t know existed in the real world until I met him. He caters to me, loves me, and cares for me in a way I have never experienced before…He’s the reason I can pen such amazing men because each one of them has a piece of him."
Now that right there is what you call love people. That love shows on the pages also in Mya's novels. Stories like "Mistakes of the Heart" and "Love Storm" showed why Mya was dubbed the Queen of Everyday Black Love but the Barrett Brothers became every female readers' book bae.
"Oh my God where do I begin with this review? This book was everything and more. I knew the author was going to go deep with King but I was not prepared one bit."

Yes, the Barrett Brothers is a definite must read if you haven't had the chance to. Mya would love for the Barrett Brothers collection to win awards, be translated in multiple languages for other countries or even having book clubs have discussions on every book release. But seeing her love stories on the big screen would be a dream come true for Mya.
Speaking of releases, Mya has been busy in the lab working with HOME | Black Odyssey Media on her new WIP "Burden of Love". This forbidden love story is set to release in the Fall of 2024 and just from reading a few of this authoress' books, it will have some Texas summer heat in it. Side note, we not talking bout the weather either. Mya also has other novels set to be released in July and August through her publisher B. Love.
